Keegan Dwyer began his music studies at the South Shore Conservatory, in Massachusetts at the age of 3. He then moved to the Cambridge’s New School of Music and studied under Susan Turcotte-Gavriel, on faculty at the University of Massachusetts and as a Master Teacher for the UMass Lowell String Project. Also in Boston he studied under Carol Sykes, founder and director of the Young People's String Consort (YPSC) and the Massachusetts Suzuki Institute.

Upon moving to Ohio, Keegan continued his studies with Wendy Vandermollen of the Cincinnati Opera and Cincinnati Ballet. Then continued under James Braid of the Cincinnati Symphony and Concertmaster of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. As a student of pedagogy, he has studied under Lynda Stieg of Capital University.

As a professional musician he has played in diverse groups and ensembles. At the classical end, he has played with Bella Musica Columbus and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. But he’s also known to be one of the founding members of Cincinnati’s favorite Bluegrass band, the Rumpke Mountain Boys and he’s always happy to jump into any jam session whether it be jazz, folk, Irish, rock, or anything you can tap a foot to.

He has been working as a violin teacher in Cincinnati and Columbus since 2004.

Keegan has also has ten years experience as a repairperson and restorationist of fine stringed instruments. He has studied under Jerrold Witkowski, a nationally recognized Luthier (violin maker) and at the Chicago School of Violin Making.
